This was just about the last photo I made in 2012, pleased to have witnessed a little snow up in Moray. This was by River Findhorn at Randolph’s Leap – a particularly spectacular yet difficult area to photograph in, and I’m told it’s prone to flash floods. Of course, me being me I didn’t actually manage to get any of the river in the shots I made there! I particularly liked the shapes made by the partially covered ferns on the ground as well as the remaining golden leaves and, of course, the composition of the trunks.

Masterly work yet again Dav, beautiful stuff

Lovely work, Dav.
Lovely photograph Dav. The trees are great esp the most forward one/two. What I find so nice about this is are leaves, the photo has this 2 dimensionality about it, it’s like 2 pictures in one. Depth with the trees, and this almost flat picture on top of the leaves. It’s quite graphic to which I enjoy.
An instant favourite from me – firmly in the Eliot Porter camp but with a unique look. He would have been proud!
Visited this area years ago but really the composition of this photo takes it to the next level of co-creation with the site; thanks, I appreciate you folks who wander and ponder and take your camera.
